What Does Hormone Testing Include?

Common hormone panels for men and women — and what results can and cannot tell you.

Hormone testing typically involves blood draws measuring specific hormones — the panel depends on symptoms, sex, age, and clinical goals.

Men's panels may include: Total and free testosterone, LH, FSH, estradiol, SHBG, and PSA when indicated.

Women's panels may include: Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, LH, FSH, and AMH depending on context (cycle timing matters for some tests).

Thyroid: TSH, free T4, and sometimes free T3 or thyroid antibodies when hypothyroidism is suspected.

NeuMed options: Men's health consultations, bio-identical hormone pellet evaluation at /bio-identical-hormone-pellet-therapy-in-houston/, and Functional Health Lab panels at /functionalhealth/.

Limitations: A single lab value rarely tells the full story. Results require clinical interpretation.
